What is Quadball?
Quadball (formerly Quidditch) is a competitive sport inspired by the game in the Harry Potter series. It is an agressive game that anyone no matter your age or gender can play as it is co-ed. Currently most official competitive Canadian teams stem from universities but there are many other community teams that anyone can join. It has been described as a combination of sports including european hand ball, dodgeball, and rugby.
The Positions
Chasers: Each team has 3 chasers on the field at any given time. The goal of the chasers is to get the Quadball (a deflated volleyball, formerly called a quaffle) through any one of the three hoops on the side of the field of the opposing team. Each time a team scores, no matter which of the three hoops, that team gets 10 points.

Beaters: Each team will have 2 beaters at any given time. The beaters are responsible for the Dodgeballs (deflated dodgeballs, formerly called bludgers) of which there are 3 on the field at all times. This means that one beater on the field will not have a dodgeball. The goal of the beaters is to keep beater control (i.e. keep both dodgeballs on your team) while helping the Chasers score points. When any player on the field is hit by a dodgeball, they must dismount their broom (found between each player's legs) and run back to their hoops to remount.

Keepers: Each team will also have one keeper on the field. They have their own area called the keeper zone found around the hoops where they are immune to dodgeballs, and contact and therefore can not be knocked off broom.

Seekers: Each team has one seeker. The seeker game does not begin until after 20 minutes of game play have passed and the snitch has been released. The goal of the seeker is to catch the snitch (see below).

Snitch: The snitch is released just before the seekers. This player can not be from either team. What the seekers must catch is the ball in a sock like pocket hanging from the back of the snitches shorts/pants. The game is over as soon as the snitch is successfully caught and the team that catches it receives 30 points.
